Kettle Valley Winery Communicable Disease Prevention Plan

Covid-19 can be spread in droplets when a person coughs or sneezes.  It can also spread if you touch a contaminated surface and then touch your face.

The risk of person-to-person transmission increases the closer you come to other people, the more time you spend near them and the more people you come near.

The risk of surface transmission increases when many people contact the same surface and when those contacts happen over short periods of time.

Risk Reduction Measures:

We have established a reservation policy for tastings to control the number of people in the tasting room at any one time.  Please call us at 250-496-5898 or email info@kettlevalleywinery.com to reserve a time for a tasting.

We have established a limit of 2 groups in the tasting room at any one time.  The maximum group size is 6 people.  Children and non-tasters do count as part of the group if they are in the tasting room.

Staff work areas have been established to allow physical distancing between staff members.

Staff will be required to attest daily that they are not feeling sick, and if they cannot do so, they will be sent home.

Plexiglass barriers have been erected over the tasting counter to separate people

Footprint decals are on the floor to remind customers to maintain physical distancing, signage will be in place on the walkway into the tasting room to remind customers of physical distancing and tasting room capacity.

No food will be available in the tasting room.

Cleaning and Hygiene:

Staff must wash their hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds at the start of each shift, after visiting the bathroom and before and after each tasting group they serve.  Hand sanitizer will be available for staff.

All high touch surfaces will be sanitized after each tasting is completed.  This includes all counters, door handles, payment terminals.  Bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.

Glassware for customers will be sanitized in our commercial dishwasher.
